Mahindra XEV 9e and BE6 Wireless Carplay: Mahindra has finally introduced wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support on the XEV 9e and BE6 electric SUV months after buyers were originally told the feature would be available at launch. The update is already standard on all grades of both the vehicles, from the base Pack One to the top-spec Pack Three
Better Late Than Never
Let’s face it—this is something that should have been there since the beginning. You are getting an electric SUV worth more ₹21 lakh in 2025, the wireless smartphone connectivity can’t exactly be considered a luxury feature now. It’s table stakes. But credit where credit is due, because Mahindra has done the needful, and all new deliveries now receive that very safety tech already enabled.
The wireless connection is thanks to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chip and it works well with the cars’ fantastic infotainment system. Both SUVs are already stuffed with tech—the XEV 9e features three 12.3-inch displays, and the BE6 has twin high-res screens. Throw in wireless CarPlay, and you’re looking at a thoroughly modern cabin experience.
What This Means for Owners
If you’ve already had your XEV 9e or BE6 delivered, it’s a safe bet that a visit to your closest Mahindra dealer would be in order for the software update to be applied. It is unclear if this will be offered in an over-the-air update, and it is somewhat frustrating for cars that come with 5G connectivity and other connected car abilities.

For first-time buyers, though, it’s clear sailing. It’s not one of those things where you have to fiddle with USB cables, or wait for promised updates — the feature just works right out of the box.
The Bigger Picture
This update aims to address one of the major disappointing factors for early buyers who shelled out premium cash for what was supposed to be state-of-the-art electric SUVs. Those are features rival offerings like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 already offer, and Mahindra could ill afford to be left behind for too long.
The XEV 9e costs a starting price of ₹21.90 lakh whereas the BE6 has a starting price of ₹18.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries of top-end grades began in March 2025, going on to be rolled out through August for other grades, and this latest wireless grip should only work to ensure that movement is not lost to either model.
Our Take
It’s good to know that Mahindra delivered on its word, but the delay also underscores the struggle of releasing feature packed vehicles in a time when tech is moving at a fast pace. The good news? 624205 New price for the entry-level XEV 9e reduces to 149 MPSA for the BE6 model C SOME vehicles already arrived as attractive sealed packages with their on-the-car range reputation – the 656 km XEV 9e and the up to 683 km as per WLTP1 BE6 – but this additional bid adds even more to the competitive pricing.
For potential buyers that are still on the fence, this wireless CarPlay addition, AR-based head-up display on the XEV 9e or BE6’s head-turning styling might have both of these SUVs as a top-tier consideration in the premium electric space.
