2025 TVS Jupiter 125: TVS Motor Company has released the first teaser image of a more updated Jupiter 125, indicating that the popular family scooter is soon likely to see a refresh. The teaser, posted on social media, reveals what look like a copper-finished rear section and a new single-piece grab rail – and frankly, it’s about time this trusty mule got a bit of love.
What’s New This Time Around
The current Jupiter 125 has been around since 2021 with only some bits and pieces updated, so this refresh has been due. As far as we can tell, TVS is borrowing some pages from the Jupiter 110’s design book – and that was a package that did quite well when it went on sale last year.
Design Updates: Expect the regulars – updated LED DRLs which now sit horizontally, new LED turn indicators and revised LED taillamps. The teaser has a single-piece seat design and that new grab rail we were talking about. TVS is also expected to offer new colour options as well, that copper shade in the teaser does look quite interesting.
Many of the basics aren’t going to change very much, though. You do however maintain an external fuel filler cap (a well-used convenience), 12-inch wheels and that capacious underseat storage that they are right when they say it will take two helmets in the proper USP for this sector of the market.
Same Heart, Different Clothes
You won’t find fireworks under the hood. The new Jupiter 125 will continue to use the same old 124.8cc single-cylinder that is currently producing 8.15 PS and 10.5 Nm of torque. Thanks to iGo Assist system, that’s bumped up a touch to 8.44 PS and 11.1 Nm.
This isn’t such bad news perhaps – for daily riding the current motor churns out a claimed 57.27kmpl, which isn’t such a bad figure to live with. It’s also proven, and sometimes that’s more meaningful than chasing horsepower numbers.

Tech Gets an Upgrade
Now here’s where it gets interesting. Out goes the instrument cluster on the current Jupiter 125 and in comes a proper digital TFT screen with TVS’s SmartXonnect technology. Think that Bluetooth connection, the turn-by-turn driving direction system and all those smartphone integration goodies to which we’ve become accustomed in 2025.
There will surely be a USB charging port – everyone needs to charge their phone these days, right?
Launch Timeline and Pricing
No specific release date has been confirmed by TVS yet, but the teaser hints at “coming soon.” The rumour mill suggests it’ll launch before festive mood sets in, and that would make sense from a sales standpoint.
As for the pricing, you can expect a slight premium over the existing price tag of ₹80,640 and ₹91,821 (ex-showroom). These updates will not be offered at no cost but TVS is expected to continue the fight against the Honda Activa 125, Hero Destini 125 and the others from the 125cc crew.
The Bigger Picture
The Jupiter has been the consistent performer for TVS, in fact, with sales of 75.4 lakh units over 12 years which, in the cutthroat scooter segment in India, is no mean achievement. The 110cc version caters to the value-conscious buyer, while the 125cc near has been introduced to families who are looking for that little extra power without spending that much more.
This update seems to be TVS playing it safe – update the looks, throw in technology, keep a known mechanical. It’s not revolutionary, but then again one of the Jupiter’s greatest virtues has always been dependability rather than flamboyance.
But now it will be very interesting to see if these alterations are enough to stay ahead of what is becoming ever more fierce competition within the 125cc class. But judging by the Jupiter’s past, we’d put all our money on TVS knowing exactly what its consumers are demanding.
